Tribute to Rose Pellegrini

Born in Sicily, Italy, on June 22, 1932, to proud parents Salvatore and Onorata Biundo, Rose was the only daughter among her two brothers, Andre and Mario. In 1955, she bravely left her homeland to begin a new chapter in the United States, settling in California. There, she built a beautiful life, marrying Alfredo Pellegrini and raising five wonderful children: Myron, Nora, Frankie, Sue, and Julie. After some time, she happily welcomed six cherished grandchildren into the world whom she cared for deeply for.

Rose had a giving heart, dedicating much of her time to cooking at a shelter for homeless individuals and struggling families. Providing warm meals was not just her livelihood—it was her way of nurturing those in need. At home, her kitchen was always filled with the delicious aroma of homemade dishes, and she took great joy in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her grandchildren will forever remember her encouragement at the dinner table: “Mangia, Mangia!”—"Eat, Eat!"

Beyond the kitchen, Rose found joy in simple pleasures. She adored watching I Love Lucy and always had a front seat in her living room to watch football games. Her presence was strong, sometimes even a little intimidating, but beneath that strength was a heart full of warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family and friends.

On November 23, 1995, Rose passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was laid to rest at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, but her spirit and legacy continue to live on through her family, who hold her memory close to their hearts.

Her love, resilience, and generosity will never be forgotten.
